Literature Text

My love and I by the wild wrecked lake shore
My love and I by the storm tossed sea
What care do I be they calm or they roar
For my love she is here with me

My love and I we shall be together
No matter what men or fate shall decide
For I know that I could not love any other
And this love I can bare not to hide

My love and I ‘neath the blanket of heaven
My love and I ‘neath a sea of stars
I dare not scorn this gift she has given
For this love it is meant to be ours

My love and I shall not live forever
One day we shall rest beneath the ground
But though our time in this world shall be over
Our souls will forever together be bound
This song was written for english class. Poeticly it was an attempt to emulate the style of Oscar Wilde's poetry; musically it is ment to sound like a traditional British folksong.

I love English folk songs more than I love.. uhm.. Roth. (don't ask) and this is a good attempt, I like the progressive imagery of two people delving deeper into their love..
